After a small trip to Canada the Formula 1 madness has come back to the European continent. The European GP was on the schedule this weekend.Valenciaseems to be a beautiful town and the track is situated in a nice dock edged with sandy beach. However, it seems to be one of the boring tracks even with two DRS zones.

According to some fans, F1 begins to remind the Michael Schumacher era with Ferrari. However, this time it’s Sebastian Vettel who seems to be unstoppable. FIA tries to reduce the huge difference between the Red Bulls and other teams. This weekend they have imposed the clampdown on engine mapping at this weekend’s European GP. However, this clampdown doesn’t affect only the RBR team, but also the rest of the starting grid.

In comparison with the weather in Canada two weeks ago, Valencia was sunny during the weekend. All the 24 F1 cars were ready on the starting grid. As the red lights went off the European GP had started. Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber had a great start. Both of them defeated their starting positions. Felipe Massa had also a good start. He even attacked Webber, but in the end, he secured the 4th position, letting Alonso to take the third one.

Actually the whole race was pretty smooth. There were neither major accidents nor retirements. All the 24 cars finished the race yesterday. Only a small contact happened between Michael Schumacher and Vitaly Petrov. Schumacher was coming back on track after the pit stop. Vitaly was also arriving fast and literally ran over Schumacher’s front wing. The seven-time World Champion had to make another pit stop.

There were few overtakes during the race, but nothing huge. The biggest fight was between Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso for the 2nd place. In the end it was Alonso who secured the second position. A gearbox problem made it impossible for Mark Webber to fight back.

The McLaren cars seemed to be struggling during the whole race. Jenson Button’s KERS stopped working and Lewis Hamilton had some problems with the tyres. Hamilton finished the race on 4th place and Button was 6th. The biggest surprise of the race was Jaime Alguersuari’s 8th place. He really did a great job.
